כִּ֥יthat
נִתֵּ֛ןwe should givenit·tên
לָֽחֶם׃breadlā·ḥem
הַיְּעֵפִ֖יםto your wearyhay·yə·‘ê·p̄îm
לַאֲנָשֶׁ֥יךָmen ? ’”la·’ă·nā·še·ḵā

סֻכּֽוֹת׃of Succoth .suk·kō·wṯ

כָּמ֣וֹךָ “ Men like you , ”kā·mō·w·ḵā
כְמוֹהֶ֔ם. . .ḵə·mō·w·hem
וַֽיֹּאמרוּ֙ they answered ,way·yō·m·rū

כְּתֹ֖אַרresemblingkə·ṯō·’ar
בְּנֵ֥יthe sonbə·nê
הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃of a king . ”ham·me·leḵ

וַיֹּאמַ֕ר Gideon replied ,way·yō·mar
בְּנֵֽי־“ the sonsbə·nê-
אִמִּ֖יof my mother !’im·mî
יְהוָ֗הAs surely as YHWHYah·weh
חַי־ lives ,ḥay-
ל֚וּif
הַחֲיִתֶ֣ם you had let them live ,ha·ḥă·yi·ṯem
אוֹתָ֔ם’ō·w·ṯām
לֹ֥אI would not
הָרַ֖גְתִּיkillhā·raḡ·tî
אֶתְכֶֽם׃you . ”’eṯ·ḵem

לְיֶ֣תֶר to Jether ,lə·ye·ṯer
בְּכוֹר֔וֹ his firstborn ,bə·ḵō·w·rōw
ק֖וּם“ Get upqūm
הֲרֹ֣גand kill them . ”hă·rōḡ

הַנַּ֤עַרBut the young manhan·na·‘ar
וְלֹא־did notwə·lō-
שָׁלַ֨ףdrawšā·lap̄
חַרְבּוֹ֙his sword ;ḥar·bōw
כִּ֣י
יָרֵ֔אhe was fearfulyā·rê
כִּ֥יbecause
עוֹדֶ֖נּוּhe was still‘ō·w·ḏen·nū
נָֽעַר׃a youth .nā·‘ar
