לְמֶֽלֶךְ־to the kinglə·me·leḵ-
יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel ,yiś·rā·’êl
הַךְ־“ Strikehaḵ-
אַ֔רְצָהthe ground ! ”’ar·ṣāh
וַיַּ֥ךְSo he struckway·yaḵ
שָֽׁלֹשׁ־the ground threešā·lōš-
פְּעָמִ֖יםtimespə·‘ā·mîm
וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽד׃and stopped .way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ

הָאֱלֹהִ֗יםof Godhā·’ĕ·lō·hîm
וַיִּקְצֹ֨ףwas angryway·yiq·ṣōp̄
עָלָ֜יוwith him‘ā·lāw
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ and said ,way·yō·mer
לְהַכּ֨וֹת“ You should have strucklə·hak·kō·wṯ
חָמֵ֤שׁthe ground fiveḥā·mêš
אוֹ־or’ōw-
שֵׁשׁ֙sixšêš
פְּעָמִ֔יםtimes .pə·‘ā·mîm
אָ֛זThen’āz
הִכִּ֥יתָyou would have struck downhik·kî·ṯā
אֶת־’eṯ-
אֲרָ֖םAram’ă·rām
עַד־until‘aḏ-
כַּלֵּ֑הyou had put an end to it .kal·lêh
וְעַתָּ֕הBut nowwə·‘at·tāh
תַּכֶּ֥הyou will strike downtak·keh
אֶת־’eṯ-
אֲרָֽם׃סAram’ă·rām
שָׁלֹ֥שׁ[only] threešā·lōš
פְּעָמִ֖יםtimes . ”pə·‘ā·mîm

וַיָּ֥מָתdiedway·yā·māṯ
וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֑הוּand was buried .way·yiq·bə·ru·hū
מוֹאָ֛בNow the Moabitemō·w·’āḇ
וּגְדוּדֵ֥יraidersū·ḡə·ḏū·ḏê
יָבֹ֥אוּused to comeyā·ḇō·’ū
בָאָ֖רֶץinto the landḇā·’ā·reṣ
בָּ֥אevery spring

וְהִנֵּה֙suddenlywə·hin·nêh
רָא֣וּthey sawrā·’ū
אֶֽת־’eṯ-
הַגְּד֔וּד a band [of raiders] ,hag·gə·ḏūḏ
וַיַּשְׁלִ֥יכוּso they threwway·yaš·lî·ḵū
אֶת־’eṯ-
הָאִ֖ישׁthe man’s bodyhā·’îš
אֱלִישָׁ֑עinto Elisha’s’ĕ·lî·šā‘
וַיֵּ֜לֶךְ. . .way·yê·leḵ
בְּקֶ֣בֶרtomb .bə·qe·ḇer
וַיִּגַּ֤עAnd as soon as [his body] touchedway·yig·ga‘
בְּעַצְמ֣וֹתthe bonesbə·‘aṣ·mō·wṯ
אֱלִישָׁ֔ע of Elisha ,’ĕ·lî·šā‘
הָאִישׁ֙the manhā·’îš
וַיְחִ֖יwas revivedway·ḥî
וַיָּ֥קָםand stoodway·yā·qām
עַל־up on‘al-
רַגְלָֽיו׃פhis feet .raḡ·lāw

מֶ֣לֶךְkingme·leḵ
אֲרָ֔םof Aram’ă·rām
לָחַ֖ץoppressedlā·ḥaṣ

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑לIsraelyiś·rā·’êl
כֹּ֖לthroughoutkōl
יְמֵ֥יthe reignyə·mê
יְהוֹאָחָֽז׃of Jehoahaz .yə·hō·w·’ā·ḥāz

וַיָּחָן֩was graciousway·yā·ḥān
אֹתָ֤םto [Israel]’ō·ṯām
וַֽיְרַחֲמֵם֙ and had compassion on them ,way·ra·ḥă·mêm
וַיִּ֣פֶןand He turnedway·yi·p̄en
אֲלֵיהֶ֔םtoward them’ă·lê·hem
לְמַ֣עַןbecause oflə·ma·‘an
בְּרִית֔וֹHis covenantbə·rî·ṯōw
אֶת־with’eṯ-
אַבְרָהָ֖ם Abraham ,’aḇ·rā·hām
יִצְחָ֣ק Isaac ,yiṣ·ḥāq
וְיַֽעֲקֹ֑בand Jacob .wə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ
עַד־And to‘aḏ-
עָֽתָּה׃ this day ,‘āt·tāh
