| נִֽהְיָה֙ | “ There is | nih·yāh | |

| הָאֵ֔לֶּה | to these | hā·’êl·leh | |
| אֲשֶׁ֖ר | – | ’ă·šer | |
| כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים | rumors | kad·də·ḇā·rîm | |
| אַתָּ֣ה | you | ’at·tāh | |
| אוֹמֵ֑ר | are spreading ; | ’ō·w·mêr | |
| כִּ֥י | . . . | kî | |
| אַתָּ֥ה | you | ’at·tāh | |
| בוֹדָֽאם׃ | are inventing them | ḇō·ḏå̄m | |
| מִֽלִּבְּךָ֖ | in your own mind . ” | mil·lib·bə·ḵā | |
| Nehemiah 6:9 | כִּ֣י | For | kî |
| כֻלָּ֗ם | they were all | ḵul·lām | |
| מְיָֽרְאִ֤ים | [trying] to frighten | mə·yā·rə·’îm | |

| לֵאמֹ֔ר | saying , | lê·mōr | |
| יְדֵיהֶ֛ם | “ Their hands | yə·ḏê·hem | |
| יִרְפּ֧וּ | will be weakened | yir·pū | |
| מִן־ | in | min- | |
| הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה | the work , | ham·mə·lā·ḵāh | |
| וְלֹ֣א | and it will never | wə·lō | |
| תֵעָשֶׂ֑ה | be finished . ” | ṯê·‘ā·śeh | |
| וְעַתָּ֖ה | But now, my God , | wə·‘at·tāh | |
| חַזֵּ֥ק | strengthen | ḥaz·zêq | |

| עָצ֑וּר | was confined | ‘ā·ṣūr | |
| וַיֹּ֡אמֶר | to his house. He said : | way·yō·mer | |
| נִוָּעֵד֩ | “ Let us meet | niw·wā·‘êḏ | |

| בֵּ֨ית | the house | bêṯ | |
| הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים | of God | hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm | |

| הַֽהֵיכָ֗ל | the temple . | ha·hê·ḵāl | |
| וְנִסְגְּרָה֙ | Let us shut | wə·nis·gə·rāh | |
| הַהֵיכָ֔ל | the temple | ha·hê·ḵāl | |
| דַּלְת֣וֹת | doors | dal·ṯō·wṯ | |
| כִּ֚י | because | kî | |
| בָּאִ֣ים | they are coming | bā·’îm | |
| לְהָרְגֶ֔ךָ | to kill you — | lə·hā·rə·ḡe·ḵā | |
| וְלַ֖יְלָה | by night | wə·lay·lāh | |
| בָּאִ֥ים | they are coming | bā·’îm | |
| לְהָרְגֶֽךָ׃ | to kill you ! ” | lə·hā·rə·ḡe·ḵā | |
| Nehemiah 6:11 | וָאֹמְרָ֗ה | But I replied , | wā·’ō·mə·rāh |
| הַאִ֤ישׁ | “ Should a man | ha·’îš | |
| כָּמ֙וֹנִי֙ | like me | kā·mō·w·nî | |
| יִבְרָ֔ח | run away ? | yiḇ·rāḥ | |
| וּמִ֥י | Should | ū·mî | |
| כָמ֛וֹנִי | one like me | ḵā·mō·w·nî | |
| אֲשֶׁר־ | – | ’ă·šer- | |
| יָב֥וֹא | go | yā·ḇō·w | |
| אֶל־ | into | ’el- | |
| הַהֵיכָ֖ל | the temple | ha·hê·ḵāl | |
| וָחָ֑י | to save his own life ? | wā·ḥāy | |
| לֹ֖א | I will not | lō | |
| אָבֽוֹא׃ | go ! ” | ’ā·ḇō·w | |
| Nehemiah 6:12 | וָאַכִּ֕ירָה | I realized | wā·’ak·kî·rāh |
