| לָֽאָדָ֗ם | to man , | lā·’ā·ḏām | |
| הֵ֤ן | ‘ Behold , | hên | |
| יִרְאַ֣ת | the fear | yir·’aṯ | |
| אֲ֭דֹנָי | of the Lord , | ’ă·ḏō·nāy | |
| הִ֣יא | that [is] | hî | |
| חָכְמָ֑ה | wisdom , | ḥāḵ·māh | |
| וְס֖וּר | and to turn away | wə·sūr | |
| מֵרָ֣ע | from evil | mê·rā‘ | |
| בִּינָֽה׃ס | [is] understanding . ’” | bî·nāh | |

| בְּהִלּ֣וֹ | shone | bə·hil·lōw | |
| עֲלֵ֣י | above | ‘ă·lê | |
| רֹאשִׁ֑י | my head , | rō·šî | |
| לְ֝אוֹרוֹ | and by His light | lə·’ō·w·rōw | |
| אֵ֣לֶךְ | I walked | ’ê·leḵ | |
| חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ | through the darkness , | ḥō·šeḵ | |
| Job 29:4 | כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר | when | ka·’ă·šer | 
| הָ֭יִיתִי | I was | hā·yî·ṯî | |
| בִּימֵ֣י | vvv | bî·mê | |
| חָרְפִּ֑י | in my prime , | ḥā·rə·pî | |
| בְּס֥וֹד | when the friendship | bə·sō·wḏ | |
| אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ | of God | ’ĕ·lō·w·ah | |
| עֲלֵ֣י | rested on | ‘ă·lê | |
| אָהֳלִֽי׃ | my tent , | ’ā·ho·lî | |
| Job 29:5 | שַׁ֭דַּי | when the Almighty | day | 
| בְּע֣וֹד | was still | bə·‘ō·wḏ | |
| עִמָּדִ֑י | with me | ‘im·mā·ḏî | |
| נְעָרָֽי׃ | and my children | nə·‘ā·rāy | |
| סְבִ֖יבוֹתַ֣י | were around me , | sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯay | |
| Job 29:6 | הֲלִיכַ֣י | when my steps | hă·lî·ḵay | 
| בִּרְחֹ֣ץ | were bathed | bir·ḥōṣ | |
| בְּחֵמָ֑ה | in cream | bə·ḥê·māh | |
| וְצ֥וּר | and the rock | wə·ṣūr | |
| יָצ֥וּק | poured out | yā·ṣūq | |
| עִ֝מָּדִ֗י | for me | ‘im·mā·ḏî | |
| פַּלְגֵי־ | streams | pal·ḡê- | |
| שָֽׁמֶן׃ | of oil ! | šā·men | |
| Job 29:7 | בְּצֵ֣אתִי | When I went out | bə·ṣê·ṯî | 
| קָ֑רֶת | to the city | qā·reṯ | |
| שַׁ֣עַר | gate | ša·‘ar | |
| עֲלֵי־ | . . . | ‘ă·lê- | |

| מוֹשָׁבִֽי׃ | my seat | mō·wō·šā·ḇî | |

| Job 29:8 | נְעָרִ֣ים | the young men | nə·‘ā·rîm | 
| רָא֣וּנִי | saw me | rā·’ū·nî | |
| וְנֶחְבָּ֑אוּ | and withdrew , | wə·neḥ·bā·’ū | |
| וִֽ֝ישִׁישִׁים | and the old men | wî·šî·šîm | |
| קָ֣מוּ | rose | qā·mū | |
| עָמָֽדוּ׃ | to their feet . | ‘ā·mā·ḏū | |
| Job 29:9 | שָׂ֭רִים | The princes | rîm | 
| עָצְר֣וּ | refrained | ‘ā·ṣə·rū | |
| בְמִלִּ֑ים | from speaking | ḇə·mil·lîm | |
| יָשִׂ֥ימוּ | and covered | yā·śî·mū | |
| לְפִיהֶֽם׃ | their mouths | lə·p̄î·hem | |
