כִֽי־Whenḵî-

וְהִתְקַצַּ֗ףthey will become enraged ;wə·hiṯ·qaṣ·ṣap̄
וּפָנָ֥הand lookingū·p̄ā·nāh
לְמָֽעְלָה׃ upward ,lə·mā·‘ə·lāh
וְקִלֵּ֧לthey will cursewə·qil·lêl
בְּמַלְכּ֛וֹtheir kingbə·mal·kōw
וּבֵאלֹהָ֖יוand their God .ū·ḇê·lō·hāw
Isaiah 8:22יַבִּ֑יטThen they will lookyab·bîṭ
וְאֶל־towə·’el-
אֶ֖רֶץthe earth’e·reṣ
וְהִנֵּ֨הand seewə·hin·nêh
צָרָ֤הonly distressṣā·rāh
וַחֲשֵׁכָה֙and darknesswa·ḥă·šê·ḵāh
מְע֣וּףand the gloommə·‘ūp̄
צוּקָ֔הof anguish .ṣū·qāh
מְנֻדָּֽח׃And they will be drivenmə·nud·dāḥ
וַאֲפֵלָ֖הinto utter darkness .wa·’ă·p̄ê·lāh

הֵקַ֞לHe humbledhê·qal
אַ֤רְצָהthe land’ar·ṣāh
זְבֻלוּן֙of Zebulunzə·ḇu·lūn
וְאַ֣רְצָהand the landwə·’ar·ṣāh
נַפְתָּלִ֔י of Naphtali ,nap̄·tā·lî
וְהָאַחֲר֖וֹןbut in the futurewə·hā·’a·ḥă·rō·wn
הִכְבִּ֑ידHe will honorhiḵ·bîḏ
דֶּ֤רֶךְthe Wayde·reḵ
הַיָּם֙ of the Sea ,hay·yām
עֵ֣בֶרbeyond‘ê·ḇer
הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן the Jordan ,hay·yar·dên
גְּלִ֖ילGalileegə·lîl
הַגּוֹיִֽם׃of the nations :hag·gō·w·yim

הַהֹלְכִ֣יםwalkingha·hō·lə·ḵîm
בַּחֹ֔שֶׁךְin darknessba·ḥō·šeḵ
רָא֖וּhave seenrā·’ū
גָּד֑וֹלa greatgā·ḏō·wl
א֣וֹרlight ;’ō·wr
עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃on‘ă·lê·hem
יֹשְׁבֵי֙those livingyō·šə·ḇê
בְּאֶ֣רֶץin the landbə·’e·reṣ
צַלְמָ֔וֶת of the shadow of death ,ṣal·mā·weṯ
א֖וֹרa light’ō·wr
נָגַ֥הּhas dawned .nā·ḡah
Isaiah 9:3הִרְבִּ֣יתָYou have enlargedhir·bî·ṯā
הַגּ֔וֹיthe nationhag·gō·w
לֹא. . .
הִגְדַּ֣לְתָּand increasedhiḡ·dal·tā
הַשִּׂמְחָ֑הits joy .haś·śim·ḥāh
שָׂמְח֤וּThe people rejoiceśā·mə·ḥū
לְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙before Youlə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā
כְּשִׂמְחַ֣תas they rejoicekə·śim·ḥaṯ
בַּקָּצִ֔יר at harvest time ,baq·qā·ṣîr
כַּאֲשֶׁ֥רaska·’ă·šer
יָגִ֖ילוּ[men] rejoiceyā·ḡî·lū
בְּחַלְּקָ֥םin dividingbə·ḥal·lə·qām
שָׁלָֽל׃the plunder .šā·lāl
Isaiah 9:4כִּ֣י׀For
אֶת־’eṯ-
כְּי֥וֹםas in the daykə·yō·wm
מִדְיָֽן׃of Midianmiḏ·yān
הַחִתֹּ֖תָYou have shatteredha·ḥit·tō·ṯā
עֹ֣לthe yoke‘ōl
סֻבֳּל֗וֹ of their burden ,sub·bo·lōw
וְאֵת֙wə·’êṯ
מַטֵּ֣הthe bar [across]maṭ·ṭêh
שִׁכְמ֔וֹ their shoulders ,šiḵ·mōw
שֵׁ֖בֶטand the rodšê·ḇeṭ
הַנֹּגֵ֣שׂof their oppressorhan·nō·ḡêś
בּ֑וֹ. . . .bōw
