עָצַֽמְתָּ־too powerful‘ā·ṣam·tā-

הַמַּ֗יִם. . .ham·ma·yim
אֲשֶׁ֤רthat’ă·šer
חָֽפְרוּ֙had been dugḥā·p̄ə·rū
בִּימֵי֙in the daysbî·mê
אָבִ֔יוof his father’ā·ḇîw
אַבְרָהָ֣ם Abraham ,’aḇ·rā·hām
פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםwhich the Philistinespə·liš·tîm
וַיְסַתְּמ֣וּםhad stopped upway·sat·tə·mūm
אַחֲרֵ֖יafter’a·ḥă·rê
אַבְרָהָ֑םAbraham’aḇ·rā·hām
מ֣וֹתdied .mō·wṯ
וַיִּקְרָ֤אAnd he gaveway·yiq·rā
לָהֶן֙[these wells]lā·hen
שֵׁמ֔וֹתthe same namesšê·mō·wṯ
כַּשֵּׁמֹ֕ת. . .kaš·šê·mōṯ
אֲשֶׁר־’ă·šer-
אָבִֽיו׃his father’ā·ḇîw
קָרָ֥אhad givenqā·rā
לָהֶ֖ןthem .lā·hen

עַבְדֵֽי־servants‘aḇ·ḏê-
וַיַּחְפְּר֥וּdugway·yaḥ·pə·rū

בְּאֵ֖רa wellbə·’êr
חַיִּֽים׃of freshḥay·yîm

לֵאמֹ֖רand saidlê·mōr

וַיִּקְרָ֤אSo he namedway·yiq·rā

הַבְּאֵר֙the wellhab·bə·’êr

כִּ֥יbecause
הִֽתְעַשְּׂק֖וּthey contendedhiṯ·‘aś·śə·qū
עִמּֽוֹ׃with him .‘im·mōw
Genesis 26:21וַֽיַּחְפְּרוּ֙Then they dugway·yaḥ·pə·rū
אַחֶ֔רֶתanother’a·ḥe·reṯ
בְּאֵ֣רwellbə·’êr
וַיָּרִ֖יבוּand quarreledway·yā·rî·ḇū
עָלֶ֑יהָover‘ā·le·hā
גַּם־that one {also} ;gam-
וַיִּקְרָ֥אso he namedway·yiq·rā
שְׁמָ֖הּitšə·māh
שִׂטְנָֽה׃Sitnah .śiṭ·nāh
Genesis 26:22וַיַּעְתֵּ֣קHe moved onway·ya‘·têq
מִשָּׁ֗םfrom theremiš·šām
וַיַּחְפֹּר֙and dugway·yaḥ·pōr
בְּאֵ֣ר. . .bə·’êr
אַחֶ֔רֶת another [well] ,’a·ḥe·reṯ
וְלֹ֥אand they did notwə·lō
רָב֖וּquarrelrā·ḇū
עָלֶ֑יהָover it .‘ā·le·hā
