עַל־placed on‘al-
דָּוִ֑דDavid’sdā·wiḏ
רֹ֣אשׁhead .rōš
הוֹצִ֖יאAnd David tookhō·w·ṣî
הַרְבֵּ֥הa great amounthar·bêh
מְאֹֽד׃. . .mə·’ōḏ
וּשְׁלַ֥לof plunderū·šə·lal
הָעִ֛ירfrom the city .hā·‘îr

בַּ֠מְּגֵרָה with saws ,bam·mə·ḡê·rāh
הַבַּרְזֶ֜לironhab·bar·zel
וּבַחֲרִצֵ֨י picks ,ū·ḇa·ḥă·ri·ṣê
וּֽבְמַגְזְרֹ֣תand axesū·ḇə·maḡ·zə·rōṯ
הַבַּרְזֶ֗ל – ,hab·bar·zel
וְהֶעֱבִ֤ירand he made them workwə·he·‘ĕ·ḇîr
אוֹתָם֙’ō·w·ṯām
בַּמַּלְכֶּןat the brick kilns .bam·mal·kɛn
יַעֲשֶׂ֔הHe didya·‘ă·śeh
וְכֵ֣ןthe samewə·ḵên
לְכֹ֖לto alllə·ḵōl
בְנֵֽי־the Ammoniteḇə·nê-
עַמּ֑וֹן. . .‘am·mō·wn
עָרֵ֣יcities .‘ā·rê
דָּוִ֛דThen [David]dā·wiḏ
וְכָל־and allwə·ḵāl
הָעָ֖םhis troopshā·‘ām
וַיָּ֧שָׁבreturnedway·yā·šāḇ
יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃פto Jerusalem .yə·rū·šā·lim

בְּעֵינֵ֣יand it seemedbə·‘ê·nê
וַיִּפָּלֵא֙implausibleway·yip·pā·lê
אַמְנ֔וֹןfor [him]’am·nō·wn
לַעֲשׂ֥וֹתto dola·‘ă·śō·wṯ
מְאֽוּמָה׃anythingmə·’ū·māh
