וַיָּבֹ֣אוּcameway·yā·ḇō·’ū
אֶֽל־to’el-
הָאִשָּׁ֜הthe womanhā·’iš·šāh
הַבַּ֗יְתָה at the house ,hab·bay·ṯāh
וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ they asked ,way·yō·mə·rū
אַיֵּ֗ה“ Where’ay·yêh
אֲחִימַ֙עַץ֙are Ahimaaz’ă·ḥî·ma·‘aṣ
וִיה֣וֹנָתָ֔ןand Jonathan ? ”wî·hō·w·nā·ṯān
עָבְר֖וּ“ They have crossed over‘ā·ḇə·rū
מִיכַ֣לthe brookmî·ḵal
הַמָּ֑יִם . . . , ”ham·mā·yim
הָֽאִשָּׁ֔הshehā·’iš·šāh
וַתֹּ֤אמֶרrepliedwat·tō·mer
לָהֶם֙.lā·hem
וַיְבַקְשׁוּ֙The men searchedway·ḇaq·šū
וְלֹ֣אbut did notwə·lō
מָצָ֔אוּ find [them] ,mā·ṣā·’ū
וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּso they returnedway·yā·šu·ḇū
יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃סto Jerusalem .yə·rū·šā·lim

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּsayingway·yō·mə·rū
אֶל־’el-
דָּוִ֗ד – ,dā·wiḏ
ק֣וּמוּ“ Get upqū·mū
אֶת־’eṯ-
וְעִבְר֤וּand cross overwə·‘iḇ·rū
הַמַּ֔יִםthe riverham·ma·yim
מְהֵרָה֙ at once ,mə·hê·rāh
כִּי־forkî-
אֲחִיתֹֽפֶל׃Ahithophel’ă·ḥî·ṯō·p̄el
כָ֛כָהhas given thisḵā·ḵāh
יָעַ֥ץadviceyā·‘aṣ
עֲלֵיכֶ֖םagainst you . ”‘ă·lê·ḵem

הַחֲמ֗וֹרhis donkeyha·ḥă·mō·wr
וַיָּ֜קָםand set outway·yā·qām
וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ. . .way·yê·leḵ
אֶל־for’el-
בֵּיתוֹ֙his housebê·ṯōw
אֶל־in’el-
עִיר֔וֹhis hometown .‘î·rōw
