הָעִ֜ירthe cityhā·‘îr
בֵּית־wherebêṯ-
אֲבֹתַי֙my fathers’ă·ḇō·ṯay
קִבְר֤וֹתare buriedqiḇ·rō·wṯ
חֲרֵבָ֔ה lies in ruins ,ḥă·rê·ḇāh
וּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָand its gatesū·šə·‘ā·re·hā
אֻכְּל֥וּhave been destroyed’uk·kə·lū
בָאֵֽשׁ׃סby fire ? ”ḇā·’êš

אֶל־to’el-
אֱלֹהֵ֖יthe God’ĕ·lō·hê
הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃of heavenhaš·šā·mā·yim

לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king ,lam·me·leḵ
אִם־“ If’im-
עַל־‘al-
ט֔וֹבit pleasesṭō·wḇ
הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ the king ,ham·me·leḵ
וְאִם־and ifwə·’im-
עַבְדְּךָ֖your servant‘aḇ·də·ḵā
יִיטַ֥בhas found favoryî·ṭaḇ
לְפָנֶ֑יךָ in your sight ,lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā
אֲשֶׁ֧רI ask that’ă·šer
תִּשְׁלָחֵ֣נִיyou send metiš·lā·ḥê·nî
אֶל־to’el-
יְהוּדָ֗ה Judah ,yə·hū·ḏāh
אֶל־to’el-
עִ֛ירthe city‘îr
אֲבֹתַ֖יwhere my fathers’ă·ḇō·ṯay
קִבְר֥וֹת are buried ,qiḇ·rō·wṯ
וְאֶבְנֶֽנָּה׃so that I may rebuild it . ”wə·’eḇ·nen·nāh
Nehemiah 2:6הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ Then the king ,ham·me·leḵ
וְהַשֵּׁגַ֣ל׀with the queenwə·haš·šê·ḡal
יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶתseatedyō·wō·še·ḇeṯ
אֶצְל֗וֹ beside him ,’eṣ·lōw
וַיֹּאמֶר֩askedway·yō·mer
לִ֨י me ,
עַד־“ How long‘aḏ-
מָתַ֛י. . .mā·ṯay
מַֽהֲלָכֲךָ֖will your journeyma·hă·lā·ḵă·ḵā
יִהְיֶ֥ה take ,yih·yeh
וּמָתַ֣יand whenū·mā·ṯay
תָּשׁ֑וּבwill you return ? ”tā·šūḇ
וַיִּיטַ֤בSo it pleasedway·yî·ṭaḇ
לִפְנֵֽי־. . .lip̄·nê-
הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙the kingham·me·leḵ
וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֔נִי to send me ,way·yiš·lā·ḥê·nî
וָֽאֶתְּנָ֥הand I setwā·’et·tə·nāh
ל֖וֹlōw
זְמָֽן׃a time .zə·mān
