הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ the king ,ham·me·leḵ
אִגְּרוֹת֙may letters’ig·gə·rō·wṯ
יִתְּנוּ־be givenyit·tə·nū-
לִ֔יto me
עַֽל־for‘al-
פַּחֲו֖וֹתthe governorspa·ḥă·wō·wṯ
עֵ֣בֶרwest‘ê·ḇer
הַנָּהָ֑ר of the Euphrates ,han·nā·hār
אֲשֶׁר֙so that’ă·šer
יַעֲבִיר֔וּנִיthey will grant me safe passageya·‘ă·ḇî·rū·nî
עַ֥דuntil‘aḏ
אֲשֶׁר־’ă·šer-
אָב֖וֹאI reach’ā·ḇō·w
אֶל־. . .’el-
יְהוּדָֽה׃Judah .yə·hū·ḏāh

אָסָף֩ Asaph ,’ā·sāp̄
שֹׁמֵ֨רkeeperšō·mêr
אֲשֶׁ֣רof the king’s’ă·šer

הַפַּרְדֵּ֜ס forest ,hap·par·dês
אֲשֶׁ֣רso that’ă·šer
יִתֶּן־he will giveyit·ten-
לִ֣יme
עֵצִ֡יםtimber‘ê·ṣîm
לְ֠קָרוֹתto make beamslə·qā·rō·wṯ
אֶת־for’eṯ-
שַׁעֲרֵ֨יthe gatesša·‘ă·rê
הַבִּירָ֤הof the citadelhab·bî·rāh
אֲשֶׁר־’ă·šer-
לַבַּ֙יִת֙ to the temple ,lab·ba·yiṯ
הָעִ֔ירfor the cityhā·‘îr
וּלְחוֹמַ֣ת wall ,ū·lə·ḥō·w·maṯ
וְלַבַּ֖יִתand for the housewə·lab·ba·yiṯ
אֲשֶׁר־’ă·šer-
אָב֣וֹאI will occupy’ā·ḇō·w
אֵלָ֑יו. . . . ”’ê·lāw
הַטּוֹבָ֥הAnd because the gracioushaṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh
כְּיַד־handkə·yaḏ-
אֱלֹהַ֖יof my God’ĕ·lō·hay
עָלָֽי׃ was upon me ,‘ā·lāy
הַמֶּ֔לֶךְthe kingham·me·leḵ
וַיִּתֶּן־grantedway·yit·ten-
לִ֣יmy requests .

וּפָרָשִֽׁים׃פand cavalryū·p̄ā·rā·šîm
עִמִּי֙with me .‘im·mî

הַחֹרֹנִ֗יthe Horoniteha·ḥō·rō·nî
וְטֽוֹבִיָּה֙and Tobiahwə·ṭō·w·ḇî·yāh
הָֽעַמֹּנִ֔יthe Ammonitehā·‘am·mō·nî
הָעֶ֣בֶדofficialhā·‘e·ḇeḏ
וַיִּשְׁמַ֞ע heard about this ,way·yiš·ma‘
גְדֹלָ֑הthey were deeplyḡə·ḏō·lāh
וַיֵּ֥רַעdisturbedway·yê·ra‘
לָהֶ֖ם. . .lā·hem
רָעָ֣ה. . .rā·‘āh
אֲשֶׁר־that’ă·šer-
אָדָ֔םsomeone’ā·ḏām
בָּ֥אhad come
לְבַקֵּ֥שׁto seeklə·ḇaq·qêš
טוֹבָ֖הthe well-beingṭō·w·ḇāh
לִבְנֵ֥יvvvliḇ·nê
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃of the Israelites .yiś·rā·’êl

יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םJerusalemyə·rū·šā·lim
